Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counselling and treatment, I can help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Interpersonal Violence (IPV) can have long-term effects on your mental and physical health. Leaving an abusive relationship is never easy and can be dangerous. Whether you are experiencing the effects of IPV from a historical or current relationship, I am here to support you. I understand the complexities of IPV well. I was a Stopping the Violence counsellor, I worked at a Transition House for women and children, and I am also a survivor of Domestic Violence.

The effects of trauma are many, and can feel overwhelming and unbearable. If you are experiencing post-traumatic stress responses you are not alone. Many mental health symptoms are automatic responses and attempts to cope with trauma. These adaptations don't always serve us in the best way. When trauma can't be processed in the moment, it is often held in the body and we can become "stuck". A Somatic approach to counselling can help you move forward and heal from the effects of trauma in an embodied way.
Counselling can be beneficial even when it's not held in the traditional in-office visit. Online sessions are held from the safety of your own home at a time that is convenient for you. I use a video-conferencing platform called Jane Video that is similar to Zoom. It is a securely encrypted Canadian Platform, is BCACC compliant, and adheres to PIPEDA recommendations.
I acknowledge that the land on which I live is the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Coast Salish People.
